I have exciting news for y’all today! I’m hosting a giveaway of the new Trim Healthy Naturals products from Trim Healthy Mama! Last week was a Canadian giveaway sponsored by Healthy Family Foods Canada, and this week I’m giving away some of the same products, this time sponsored by Trim Healthy Mama itself.
I was blessed to be able to review these products before giving them away. Long story short: I was very impressed.
The Hippie Stick – natural deodorant is just bad news, right? Especially for me. I have a tremendous sweating problem. In fact, if there is anything I could change about myself, it would not be my big nose, or my blushing ability, but rather my propensity for sweating. It’s very unladylike. Not that I can help it or anything. Too much information, I know, but I can sweat through an antiperspirant within minutes. Plus I live in South Carolina, so it’s not exactly cool where I live (except December through February). I did not expect the Hippie Stick to work. Not on me. Maybe on some people who don’t really sweat (those annoying people…), but not me.
Surprise, surprise, it works. It’s not an antiperspirant, so I do sweat more, but I don’t smell. At least no more than I did with my other deodorant. I have found that I have to make sure I apply plenty of Hippie Stick, and I prefer the Natural Bouquet to the unscented. The Natural Bouquet has some essential oils for a pleasant fragrance. To me, it smells mostly like peppermint, which is really cool because I LOVE peppermint.
My only complaint is that it can be a little tricky to apply. It has a high content of coconut oil, so if it doesn’t warm up a little first, it’s hard to apply enough.
Bountiful Balm – it’s made for rashes, chapped hands, cuts, sores, insect bites, stings, etc. I haven’t had much of a chance to use it, but I’m excited to see what it will do for my cracked, bleeding hands this winter. I have used this stuff on the sides of my mouth where I tend to get chapped skin, and it soothes almost instantly.
Kit Clear Blemish Fixer – natural acne treatment. Guess they knew I needed that… It contains witch hazel and smells pretty pungent, and it stings on my face a little after I apply it, so I guess that means it’s working. I normally just use an ACV dilute morning and evening to combat acne, and that seems to work just as well as the Kit Clear. I haven’t noticed the Kit Clear instantly clearing anything up, but maybe it will help act as a preventative.
Orange Silk Hydrating Cream and The Spunj – these are the products I am most excited about, personally. I’ve never worn make up, and I’ve never really done any extensive skin care stuff either. I use an ACV dilute twice a day for my acne, wash my face and shower on a fairly regular basis, and put lotion on my hands when they get chapped. That’s it. So the idea of going to the bother of putting cream on my face every day, much less sponging it in, sounded a little ludicrous. Those who know me know that I have little time and patience for bells and whistles like that.
Then I opened the Orange Silk Hydrating Cream. It smelled like an orange creamsicle. Which made me want to eat it. So I did, because THM’s claim to fame on these products is that they’re pure enough to eat, right? While the Orange Cream wasn’t exactly like eating frosting out of the jar, it was pretty good for a skincare product. Not that I’ve eaten many of those.
Am I the only one that took them literally about the whole pure-enough-to-eat thing? Please tell me I’m not.
Back to business…this never-does-anything-with-her-skin girl tried out the Orange Silk Hydrating Cream and The Spunj and is now hooked. It feels AMAZING. It makes my face happy, and alive, and glowing.
One lucky lady (or guy) is going to take home all of this stuff:

Hey love! 🙂
Just letting you know – the paragraph where you’re reviewing the Hippie Stick – you wrote “except” instead of “expect”… “for it to work”. I read you wanted us to let you know on your introductory page?:)
Absolutely love your website (though I’m kind of new around here:) – keep up the wonderful work!!
Blessings!

I participated in the giveaway, and got all 5 entries. However, I ‘logged out’ thinking that was the thing to do, and it took my 5 entries away. Is there a way to fix that?

I checked and your entries are in there safely!

Your review was very helpful! The orange cream and spunj are what I’m most excited to try. The hippie stick has me intrigued, but I’m still skeptical. I have to use the clinical anti-perspirant.

Hi Briana, I stumbled across your neat website and will have to spend more time at a later date. I have a question . My husband purchased a 6-8 month old colt at auction for $ 5.00 —- yes 5 bucks ! We are planning to have him gelded this fall. We named him Lincoln and he has a good disposition . Heidi is our horse person and loves him. To cut cost, my husband would like to be the ferrier for the horse. Could you direct us to a good book or website to help him learn this skill? I trust your family is well . Thank you so much for your time . Lord bless, Mrs. Louise Pike Mclaughlin SD
